Barney's Block comes from a mature vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale. The wine was matured for 22 months in one year old French oak and possesses a soft velvety texture rarely seen in a McLaren Vale.

2004 BRAVE FACES
Colour Deep plum
AromaAn intense bouquet of jet black plums, cloves and fennel; it is bright, bouncy and intense
PalateThe palate is soft and approachable with a lovely coating texture; the mid palate builds to a focused and well defined finish. This has loads of gob smacking fruit and is a pleasure to drink straight off the bat.
This wine is more in the mould of the 2002, with a tighter tannin structure.
The grapes were crushed into and fermented in open top potters, with regular pump overs twice daily to extract flavour, colour and tannin. The grapes were then pressed and the wine was transferred to tank and then racked to barrel for oak maturation.
4 to 6 years
