At Two Hands we like to experiment with new varietals, which leads us to the most recent release, the Fool's Paradise Barbera from McLaren Vale. The resulting red wine is fresh and lively with clean, savoury notes and a creamy firmness.
SHIRAZ TINTA AMARELLA
To be cellared and treated like a red wine, the Fly By Nighters Vintage Port will be enhanced by many years of bottle maturation. It is solid in weight, yet light on its feet, and shows purity and elegance with excellent mouthfeel.
2010 COACH HOUSE BLOCK SHIRAZ
Colour Black core with deep red/magenta rim
AromaComplex array of black fruits, scorched earth, pepper, spice and graphite
PalateThrough the palate come black fruits, spice, subtle meaty notes and earthiness. The palate is tight and long and balanced with fine tannins.
The fruit in 2010 from the various Coach House vineyard sections were crushed and de-stemmed into open top fermenters and pressed at the desired times with an average time on skins of 12 days. At pressing, all free run and pressings were combined in tank and after 24 hours the wine was then racked off gross lees to oak.
Although quite tight, can be drunk now until 2035
The wine was matured in 15% new French oak, 38% in one year old with the balance in older French oak for 20 months, then bottled with minimal fining and without filtration
