Sourced from a 99 year old vineyard, this is a distinctive Eden Valley Riesling. The Boy displays exotic aromas, very fine lemon notes and has long-term cellaring potential.
2010 SOPHIE'S GARDEN

PalateAs usual, the cool climate nose is contradicted with the warmer climate palate: more dark fruits, chocolate and spice, but still the subtle menthol adds freshness and length finishing with fine tannins.
Crushed into and fermented in five tonne open top fermenters with regular pump overs; three daily during peak fermentation to extract colour, flavour and tannin. Following 14 days of maceration, the dry free run was drained to tank and the skins pressed to the same tank. 24 hours later the wine was then racked to barrel, where malolactic fermentation took place. Minimal fining and unfiltered.
