2013 Twelftree Moritz Grenache, Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale

Bright ruby-red. Deeply pitched aromas of ripe red fruits, candied flowers and licorice, with a mineral element adding lift. Juicy and delineated on the palate, offering bitter cherry and berry skin flavors that flesh out and become sweeter on the back half. Supple tannins give shape to an extremely long, mineral-driven finish framed by silky, harmonious tannins.

2013 Twelftree Grenache Mataro, Greenock/Ebenezer, Barossa Valley

Opaque ruby. Deeply pitched, spice-accented dark berry and licorice aromas are lifted by a sexy floral nuance. Supple and expansive in the mouth, offering powerful blackberry, bitter chocolate and floral pastille flavors plus hints of spicecake and mocha. The clinging, penetrating, fruit-driven finish features fine-grained tannins and an echo of candied lavender. The alcohol level here is 14.2%, which is downright dainty by Barossa standards.
