Written upon release in 2009:
COLOUR – Very deep black, almost ink-like
AROMA – Some strong aromas with this wine, presenting a cerebral bouquet of toffee, cola, fresh cut flowers, potpourri, charcoal, asphalt and dark berry conserve.
PALATE – This wine starts with an energetic burst of fruit across the palate. The many layers remain supple and textured; while big on entry, the flavours unfold in an elegant manner. The late palate fruit tannin balances nicely between the sweet fruit, oak and the wine’s minerality leaving the palate in complete harmony. A very full bodied and well defined wine.
