Buoyant raspberry, red cherry characters with a restrained savoury palate, grainy tannins backed by integrated oak. A serious food wine that shows what a wonderful marriage these three varietals make if blended with balance in mind.

  • Tasting Notes

    Mid red with a bright red core.

    Notes of bright raspberry, dark cherries, rose petal, jelly crystals and deli meats.

    Bright and vibrant on the palate with notes of jellied fruits, cherry drops and strawberries and cream, with subtle hints of rose water. Sappy through the mid-palate with a lovely interplay of creamy/ leesy texture. The gentle, chalky sappy texture runs the length of the palate finishing with hints of white pepper, aromatic wood and a hint of deli meat.

  • Wine Making

    The majority of the batches were de-stemmed and crushed to open top fermenters. The Shiraz was pumped over three times daily through the peak of fermentation, whereas the Grenache and Mourvèdre, after a few days cold soak, were lightly plunged. Average time ‘on-skins’ was 15 days. Grenache parcels were fermented with 20% whole bunches. All pressings were added back to the free run. Some barrels had extended lees contact through maturation.

    Aged for 12 months in a combination of older French oak foudre, hogsheads and puncheons.

    The black licorice, anise and black tea notes are effusive, adding complexity to the core of blueberry and wild blackberry flavors. Detailed, juicy and bright, with a touch of sage lingering. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Shiraz. Drink now through 2030.
