  • Tasting Notes

    Colour
Deep, mid-red with a bright red core

    Aroma
Lifted notes of dark cherry, red licorice, fresh cut flowers, pink peppercorn, and fresh game meat.

    Palate
Very buoyant across the entry, this bright and lively Shriaz provides prominent notes of fresh picked berries and dark cherry on the front palate. • Wine Making

Fermented in a single three tonne, open topped fermenter, using 80% whole bunches and the remainder destemmed but not crushed. Gently punched down daily to extract colour, flavour and tannin. Following a 18 day maceration, the wine was pressed with free run and press fractions kept separate. The wine was barreled straight away where Malolactic fermentation took place, with racking occurring only once. It was then aged on a fine lees for the duration of maturation.

    Maturation
Aged for 18 months in 15% new French oak hogsheads, with the remainder in 2-4 year old puncheons and hogsheads.

    Cellar Potential
    Up to 15 years
