Region: Seaview & Willunga, McLaren Vale

Base Geology:
– Grenache Umberatana Group c. 650 million years Sellicks Hill Formation Dark Grey, ribbioned, silty limestone.
– Mourvedre Pleistocene (2.6 million to 11 700 years) Negaltinga Formation Grey and red mottled clay; commonly capped with calcrete.

Climate: Mediterranean 2020 seasonal rainfall 512mm

Elevation: Seaview Grenache 155 metres & Wiillunga Mouvedre 32 metres

Vines: Grenache 18 year old vines untrellised & Mouvedre 25 year old trellised

Picking Date: Grenache 14th of February & Mouvedre 3rd of March

Winemaking: Hand picked fruit, de-stemmed, not crushed, 15% whole bunch, cold soaked, natural fermentation, punched down, 14 days on skins, light pressings.

Maturation: 500 litre Frech oak puncheons for 9 months
