2021 The Boy Riesling
The Boy is the epitome of an Eden Valley Riesling with it’s exotic aromatics. Sourced from a 107 year old, dry grown vineyard to the north on Mengler’s Hill.
“So you walk and walk and walk and finally you find a special place with a special vineyard. You walk some more and you taste and you’re excited…107 year old Riesling vines perched high atop the Eden Valley with an intensity you have never experienced before..…you have found “The Boy” – Michael Twelftree”
The bouquet is very reserved with notes of fresh tea leaf, apple blossom, fresh hay, freshly squeezed lemon, juniper and nougat.
The palate is thick and holds a concentrated texture, the flow is dense and the wine holds a nice weight. As the liquid rolls across your tongue, deep and broad flavours of wet stone, marmalade and apricot unwind through the texture. The acid profile is very neat and not obvious in any way. – MT
