INSTINCTIVELY CURIOUS – May News 2023

Two Hands Wines Newsletter

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. The Two Hands Wines team is proud to announce the successful completion of vintage 2023!

Over the past months, we have poured our hearts and souls into every aspect of the winemaking process. From meticulously tending to our vineyards to the final harvest, our goal has always been to produce wines that truly showcase the essence of our style and our unwavering commitment to quality.

In a challenging growing season each vineyard was under the watchful and experienced eye of our Vineyard Manager Peter, the fruit was carefully selected to ensure only the highest grade made it into the winery. A big shoutout to all of our growers and our own vineyard team, John and Alex for all of their hard work in the preceding 12 months and the long hours spent tending the very special vines that our grapes are sourced from.

Richard, Kennedy and our winemaking team, with their unparalleled expertise and passion, ensured that only the absolute best make it into our barrels to start maturation. Every decision made, from fermentation techniques to oak aging, was executed with meticulous care to capture the unique characteristics of each varietal.

As we eagerly await the moment when we can share these remarkable vintage 2023 wines with you. The sheer range of flavours, aromas, and textures we have discovered in these wines is quite remarkable.

WINE OF THE MONTH
WANDERLUST
CABERNET SAUVIGNON/CABERNET FRANCWanderlust: noun. a strong desire to travel.
“Our special McLaren Vale Cabernet, Wanderlust, is a chance for us to find the best 4 or 5 barrels of McLaren Vale Cabernet and to blend them with smaller portions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, I loved blending this wine, as it takes a huge amount of skill to get it perfect. This wine sits in a very feminine and elegant framework, with an incredible tannin profile that is supple but also very long and caressing.” – MT

Peter joined the wine industry in 1997 after studying a Bachelor of Applied Science in Viticulture at CSU Wagga Wagga. He moved to the Barossa in 1999 and spent years on the ground working in some of the Barossa’s best vineyards and establishing new vineyards in Clare and the Barossa. He has previously worked for Brown Brother’s in Victoria as grape supply manager, has been a lecturer for TafeSA in viticulture, owned his own consulting business, and recently before joining our team was Viticultural Manager for Accolade Wines in the Barossa.

We raise our glasses to toast the completion of vintage 2023, a year that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Cheers to another remarkable year at Two Hands Wines!
