TASTE

Three wines, three regions, three very different personalities…

The three current release Shiraz wines from our Picture Series are great examples of how diverse this variety can be when grown in three distinctly different regions.

For many, the Picture Series is the introduction to Two Hands, so our first mission is to over deliver on quality. The winemaking technique and effort that goes into making a Gnarly Dudes or Angels’ Share is no different to the higher tiers of the portfolio.

Journey from Clare to the Barossa to McLaren Vale with a selection of our favourites’ from this series; these are serious wines packaged under unique and irreverent personalities.

FIELDS OF JOY
CLARE VALLEY SHIRAZ
The Clare Valley is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. The Mediterranean climate in this region benefits from the cool afternoon breezes that blow through the valley in the warmer months, producing cooler climate-style wines from what is a warm climate region. The Fields of Joy Shiraz displays elegance and the lively characteristics typical of fruit from this region; think plums and blueberries across the palate with notes of violets and woody herbs. $32/bottle

GNARLY DUDES
BAROSSA VALLEY SHIRAZ
The continental climate of hot summer days and cold winters in the Barossa Valley is broken by a series of valleys and hills which provide a range of cooler micro-climates. The soil is a deep grey-red loam containing quartz and ironstone which helps to produce fruit that is rich and complex in flavour. The Gnarly Dudes Shiraz is vibrant and bright with a cleansing acidity. Dark fruits such as blackberries and black cherry flood across the palate, this is a red that is big and bold, and quintessentially typical of the characteristics found in the Barossa Valley. $32/bottle
ANGEL’S SHARE
McLAREN VALE SHIRAZ
With a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters, the McLaren Vale region is bordered on three sides by Adelaide, the Mt Lofty Ranges and the Gulf St Vincent. This plays an important role in moderating the climate plus it is one of the most geologically diverse regions in the world. The Angels’ Share Shiraz displays the blue fruit character that we classically associate with wines from this region. Blueberries pop up-front on the palate, tannins are round and soft with mocha and lavender flavours weaving across the finish. $32/bottle
