Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wineries 2023

The Halliday Wine Companion is the work of a dedicated team of wine authorities, who collectively taste more than 9,000 wines each year.

Earlier this year, The Halliday Wine Companion released their annual awards to recognise the nation’s top wines, winemakers, viticulturists, and wineries across Australia’s wine regions. Read more on our scores and reviews from this year’s awards, here.

2023 sees the inaugural Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wineries, as selected by Halliday Wine Companion Chief Editor, Campbell Mattinson. The Top 100 Wineries is a list of the best Australian producers of now.

In short, this is a list of producers who know, in their heart and in their head, that consumers don’t owe them a living. This is a list of producers who are prepared to stake their reputation on every single wine they release.
CAMPBELL MATTINSON, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION CHIEF EDITOR

With more than 2,000 wineries making up the diverse regions across Australia, we are thrilled to be named within the Top 100.  Of the Top 100 wineries, just eight Barossa Valley wineries feature in the list. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, and we are grateful for your support. We are committed to producing wines that reflect the unique terroir, and we are honoured to be recognised as one of the top wineries in the country.

We would like to extend a big congratulations to each and every winery who placed within the Top 100, especially our neighbours within the Barossa Valley region – Seppeltsfield, Torbreck Vintners, Spinifex, HEAD Wines, Penfolds, Neldner Road and Alkina Wine Estate.
