Charlie's Garden

Eden Valley Shiraz

By visiting this page, we hope that you are either enjoying our Charlie’s Garden Eden Valley Shiraz or would like to find out more about it.

At Two Hands we source premium fruit from six of the finest Shiraz growing regions around Australia, from which we produce the Garden Series.

Eden Valley is a wine region located within the Barossa zone in South Australia. It is situated northeast of the Barossa Valley and is known for its cool climate and diverse microclimates, making it ideal for growing a wide range of grape varieties. While often associated with the Barossa Valley, Eden Valley has its own unique characteristics and reputation as a premium wine-producing region.

While Shiraz is a dominant grape in both Eden and Barossa Valley, the style of Shiraz from Eden Valley tends to be more elegant and refined, with red fruit characteristics and peppery notes. The region’s picturesque landscape features rolling hills and vineyards, creating a beautiful setting for wine enthusiasts to explore.

Eden Valley’s reputation for producing high-quality wines, especially Riesling and Shiraz, has garnered attention from wine lovers worldwide, and it remains a sought-after destination for wine tourism and appreciation of exceptional Australian wines.

“There’s a special valley of grapes and gums in the Barossa, world famous for the quality of its wines – and particularly its Riesling – and renowned for the stunning landscapes around every corner.”  – Barossa Australia

Made since 2015, with fruit sourced from one of the highest vineyards on top of Menglers Hill.  Charlie’s Garden is quintessentially Eden Valley Shiraz, with a soft bouquet of red fruits and fresh cut flowers with a moderately powerful fruit profile that finishes with an amazing minerality.

The wildlife and gumtrees that surround this vineyard were a natural inspiration for the colour of this label.

FOOD PAIRING

CHARLIE'S WITH ROAST CHICKEN

Try pairing our Charlie’s Garden with this garlic herb butter roast chicken, packed with unbelievable flavours and crispy skin. Perfect for that cool winters night or a weekend afternoon with friends.

Where most would automatically opt for a lighter bodied varietal to match with chicken such as Grenache or Pinot Noir. We at Two Hands find that roasted chicken takes on a deep, hearty flavour profile that is perfect match for a darker, richer wine.

2023 HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION

“The Garden Series provides a deep dive into regionality in Australia and the Charlie’s Garden, way up on Mengler’s Hill, has always been a firm favourite. Red and dark berry fruits are set against a spicy frame that is flecked with violets and purple floral facets. There’s a keen sense of space and savoury sway here, with a lovely Eden Valley acidity and cadence driving the fruit forwards.” 94 points Read on HERE
