Growing Regions

six unique Australian regions that best illustrate the complexity of Shiraz grown in contrasting terroirs

Two Hands source premium fruit from six of Australia’s premium Shiraz growing regions, from which we produce our wines.

Our objective here is to demonstrate the regionality of Australian Shiraz, with different characteristics of the six Garden Series wines reflecting the soil, climate and other aspects of each regions.

These six regions are Barossa Valley, Eden Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Heathcote and Clare Valley.

Bella's Garden

Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley is renowned for Shiraz; robust wines with plenty of fruit intensity and concentration, endowed with firm, ripe tannins and the ability to age.

The colour red on the Bella’s Garden label reflects the red soils of the Barossa’s western ranges where all the best Two Hands vineyards are located.

Harriet's Garden

Adelaide Hills

From the coolest part of the state as the weather rolls in off the Southern Ocean, sourced from a vineyard next to Hope Forest in the Adelaide Hills.

An elegant wine with a unique aromatic profile and tannin structure, the moderating effect of the Southern Ocean in conjunction with the site’s elevation provides finer red fruit characteristics.

Lily's Garden

McLAREN VALE

Shiraz is the most important varietal for this region; generous, plum-mulberry fruit profiles, sometimes chocolate/mocha characters with notes of earth and spice and soft, supple tannins.

They are wines (with a few exceptions) for the mid-term. Lily’s Garden blue label takes inspiration from McLaren Vale’s close proximity to the sea.

Max's Garden

Heathcote

Shiraz is the backbone of the region, producing full bodied, rich, stylish wines with cool restrained elements.

The orange Cambrian soils on which the vineyard is based, thought to be some of the oldest soils in the world, are the inspiration for the Max’s Garden label colour.

Samantha's Garden

Clare Valley

The Clare Valley is well respected for its vibrant, limey, long lived Rieslings and generous, but elegant Shiraz wines.

Between Adelaide and the Clare Valley the landscape is a sea of golden yellow wheat fields, an obvious choice for the colour of Samantha’s Garden label.
